Hilda, the animated series based on the comic books created by Luke Pearson, is starting this fall on the Netflix channel.
Hilda’s adventures began in 2009, when Pearson, a gifted English illustrator and cartoonist, sent an illustration for a contest promoted by Publisher Nobrow, with a character who was similar in everything to the future heroine of his books. In 2010 came Hilda’s first book, published by Nobrow, “Hilda and the Troll”, which presents us the adventures of a little blue-haired girl and her little “deerfox” in an environment marked by Scandinavian folklore and full of strange and fantastic creatures.
There are currently four graphic novels, which have won awards such as the Young People’s Comic Award, the British Comic Awards, “The Dwayne McDuffie Award for Kid’s Comics,” “Pépite de la Bande Dessinée” in Montreuil Book fair, among others.
The animated series will be in charge of Silvergate Media and Mercury Filmworks, studio responsible for the animated series The Lion Guard and Tangled: The series, for example.
