When, back in 2003, the Mythology: The DC Comics Art of Alex Ross artbook was published, fans rejoiced with the compilation of comics most famous realist artist.
Pantheon Books, by hiring the celebrated designer Chip Kidd to architect the anthology, showed that it was aware of how the future readership would want something special for such a peculiar author.

Right after, however, arose a sense of insufficiency for the tremendous lack of an equivalent volume on Ross’s work for Marvel Comics.

Fifteen years later, Marvelocity is everything the fans lingered for and more. Even though in a nonofficial way, the new anthology reveals itself as the perfect complement for Mythology. Essencial to that very effect is the return of Kidd, lauded in the comics world for his seminal work on Batman Animated, a lush yet elegant trip through the creative worlds behind the homonym animated series.

Marvelocity includes more than 50 unpublished sketches as well as an original Spider-Man short.
The foreword is by director J. J. Abrams and it comes out October the 2nd.
