C.B. Cebulski is the new Editor-in-Chief at Marvel

28 November

Dan Buckley, President of Marvel Entertainment has announced that C.B. Cebulski will replace Axel Alonso as Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics.
Alonso, who had worked previously for Vertigo, an imprint of the rival company DC Comics, had been working for Marvel since 2000, having become EIC in 2011.
The unexpected news places that very role in the hands of Cebulski, who had diverse functions in the so-called House of Ideas, from scriptwriter to editor and talent hunter.
For the past year and a half, Cebulski has been directing Asian projects for parent company Disney from Shanghai.
Famous for his knowledge of foreign markets, the new EIC has strong connections to the Far East and Europe.
C.B. Cebulski said it is an honour to be invited for the role and that Marvel’s mission is, and always has been, to create a compromise between a reflexion of current events and an escapist vehicle.
Joe Quesada, Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, will be present along the transition process.
The news has come out through an official communiqué, having been first revealed by G. G. Gustines of The New York Times.
